Call Directors in TYA - An International Exchange

Alle zwei Jahre veranstaltet die ASSITEJ Deutschland das Internationale Regieseminar für Kinder- und Jugendtheater, seit 2018 unter dem Titel DIRECTORS IN TYA – An International Exchange.

2027 wird die Veranstaltung am COMEDIA Theater Köln stattfinden. Davor haben zum Beispiel das Theater Strahl (2019), das Junge Theater Braunschweig (2021), das Hessische Landestheater Marburg (2023) oder das FUNDUS THEATER (2025) die einmalige Möglichkeit genutzt, internationale Regisseur*innen der Darstellenden Künste für junges Publikum einzuladen und sich eine Woche lang mit ihnen auszutauschen.

Bis zum 1. September 2026 ist die Bewerbung für Teilnehmende aus der ganzen Welt über das folgende Formular möglich. Bewerber*innen deren aktueller Lebens- und Arbeitsmittelpunkt Deutschland ist, müssen mit ihrer Bewerbung ein Empfehlungsschreiben eines Mitglieds der ASSITEJ Deutschland einreichen. Mit dem Thema CREATING COMMON SPACES der Ausgabe 2027 stellt das COMEDIA Theater Köln die Frage in den Mittelpunk, wie ein Theater ein Ort der Begegnung sein kann? Und wie diese Praxis, mit und für junge Menschen gestaltet werden kann? Wir freuen uns über den Austausch und Realitätscheck, was bei einem Theater als COMMON SPACE Wunsch, was Realität und was Behauptung ist.

The topic will be „CREATING COMMON SPACES“: What do the COMMON SPACES in which you move look like? How do you create and design these spaces in your own artistic work? How do you (re-)distribute power when creating COMMON SPACES for and with young people? What would you like to bring with you to bring the shared space to life during the ASSITEJ Director's Exchange?(required)

Please note that applicants whose current place of work and residence is Germany must submit a letter of recommendation from a member theatre (full ASSITEJ member) with their application. All applications will be evaluated by ASSITEJ Germany and COMEDIA Theater, and you will be notified of the decision after the application deadline.

Travel Costs

We will normally assume that travel costs will be covered either by the participants themselves, or by their respective ASSITEJ national centre or ASSITEJ network. Your country may offer other funding opportunities for this purpose.
ASSITEJ Germany and the hosting theatre cannot cover the travel costs for all participants. If you do require support to cover your travel costs, please specify here:
