Funding
Funding is important for performing arts for young audiences, so they can further their development, and reach even more children and young people. On the following pages, you will find information on our current funding programmes, including how to apply, any important dates and deadlines, and the goals of each programme.
Each programme has a point of contact who will gladly provide any advice you need.
Pathways Into Theatre
ASSITEJ Deutschland is a programme partner of “Culture makes you strong. Alliances for education”, the largest funding programme for cultural education from the Federal Ministry for Education and Research, through its programme “Pathways into Theatre”. This programme funds theatre projects for children and young people between the ages of three and eighteen, who grew up in high-risk social, financial, or educational situations. Disabled children as well as those with refugee experience are explicitly named as part of the target group.
The PERSPEKTIV:WECHSEL Alliance
Hello! We are CHANGING:PERSPECTIVES, one of the ASSITEJ’s funding programmes. We are a union consisting of artists, independent theatres, and the ASSITEJ (the association for children’s and youth theatre). We want to better represent the diversity of our society in theatre for young audiences. This is why we question our working methods and aesthetics, listen to experts with experience of marginalisation, try out new selection procedures and jury models, and give out prizes.
